The Good Word Report: Two Little Kindness Warriors
Last month, I came across an Instagram post from Nia Lewis, a mother and change-maker from South Australia with a passion for inspiring the next generation of kindness warriors. Taking on the Kindness Ninja Challenge to complete 100 acts of kindness, Nia and a few young ones, Madi and Tao, chose to kick it off by participating in Car Window Poetry.
Madi and Tao loved every minute of sharing their encouraging poems on car windows for the owners to find on their return. Nia said, "The cutest was, when we headed back a few hours later, they were running up the street shouting, 'I wonder if my red car is still there! I wonder if they liked their poem!'"
Kindness is contagious, and I love to see how Nia, Madi, and Tao are infecting those in their community. In Nia's words, "Once people have a taste [of kindness], as a giver or receiver, they are likely to pass it on... meaning movements [like Car Window Poetry] have the potential to spread like wildfire."
Nia is currently a Car Window Poetry Chapter Leader in Adelaide, South Australia, and she's excited to unlock the power of words to build more connected, caring, and creative communities through hosting local events in her city.
